The Mike Curb Congregation is made up of fourteen vibrant performers. Because of the broad scope of musical backgrounds within the group, their repertoire includes everything from rock to easy listening to gospel and country and all types of music in between. The excitement generated by this group steadily garnered more and more attention as the requests for their personal appearances increased across the country and around the world. The Congregation has been in constant demand by Las Vegas, network television and concert halls.
In the past years, this group has appeared on television with such pros as Burt Bacharach, Tony Bennett, Sonny & Cher, Jose Feliciano, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Steve and Edyie, Dinah Shore, Mike Douglas, Monty Hall and Merv Griffin. They were seen throughout the nation weekly on the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour television show and appeared on both the Grammy Awards and the Academy Awards.
Besides their busy television schedule, they have traveled throughout the United States appearing live at Lake Tahoe (with Sammy Davis, Jr.), at Caesars Place (with Steve & Edyie), at the Hollywood Bowl (with Henry Mancini), at the Landmark (with Hank Williams Jr.), at San Carlos Circle Star (with Eddy Arnold) and at the International Hotel (with Liberace). They also performed at a special concert with the Cincinnati Symphony with Andy Williams.They have been involved in four separate concerts at the White House and at the United States Air Force Ball. They toured Japan several times and performed at the Yamaha World Music Festival in Tokyo and throughout the world.
They have performed on major duets for award winners like Sammy Davis, Jr. (on his #1 hit "Candy Man"), Hank Williams Jr. (on his #1 hit "All For The Love Of Sunshine"), Steve & Edyie, Eddy Arnold, Tony Bennett, Petula Clark, Lou Rawls, Mel Tillis, Roy Orbison and Trini Lopez. They have also had great success with their own recordings including "Burning Bridges" from the Clint Eastwood motion picture Kelly's Heroes, and "Softly Whispering I Love You", as well as their albums, "Put Your Hand In The Hand", "Come Together", "Sweet Gingerbread Man", "Song For A Young Love", and various gospel albums have proven great chart hits for the easy listening and softer rock markets.
The group also had success with "It's A Small World" which went top 10 on the national charts. Their association with Disney also included numerous appearances at both Disneyland and Disney World. The Congregation recorded the entire album of "Walt Disney Greatest Hits". The Congregation's recording of "Long Haired Lover From Liverpool" with The Osmond Family became the number one record of the entire year in England.
In 2007, the Mike Curb Congregation returned to the music marketplace with a collection of spiritual music entitled "50 Classic Hymns". The "50 Classic Hymns" contains two cds with 50 songs that have endured for many years. The album debuted in the top 10 of the Nielsen Soundscan Inspirational chart in March 2007.
